With a few days left before Christmas, here's a look at some interesting figures about this holiday season.

Packages delivered the week before Christmas: 34 million, according to UPS spokesman Dan McMackin.

Average amount Americans plan to spend on gifts: $704, according to Gallup.

Amount of snow that makes for a white Christmas: One inch of snow, the National Weather Service reports.

Record Christmas lights on house in the world: 502,165 LED lights were strung from a house in Australia, according to Guinness World Records.

Number of Americans planning to go caroling: 16 % to sing those cheerful Christmas songs, according to the Pew Research Center.

Americans planning to put up Christmas tree: 8 out of 10 Americans, the Pew study found.

Shoppers buying at least one gift card: 80%, according to the National Retail Federation. The trade association also predicted Americans would spend $161.16 on average on gift cards this year.
